Inspired by HOMAGE
HOMAGE is Dakar’s repository of facts and stories of the armed forces from the first U.S. militias to today’s modern military, and the speaker bureau of Hall of Fame athletes, celebrities and national influencers that Victory by Valor grew out of. Kevin Clark’s HOMAGE cards — a sports photograph, a service portrait and a rank — are the visual grammar of this site.
Campaign at a glance
Film, museum and speaker bureaus.
Victory by Valor is an integrated strategy that delivers the historical contributions of African Americans in service to national strategic markets, activated through military observance days and connected to local outreach programs. It showcases the cross-connection between sports and pop culture — civilian heroes who had a little-known second life in the military — through social media and student assembly screenings, with a panel that challenges students to define a hero and find the hero within, and a lesson plan for educators built on the For Love of Liberty curriculum.
